Monthly Love: November

NovHere’s what I loved for the month of November:

1. Good & Angry by David Powlison

This is a phenomenal book on the topic of anger. It addresses the important distinction between healthy and unhealthy anger and helps readers to cultivate godly response to their emotions. David Powlison is a great counselor and author and this will easily become the new go-to-book on the subject in Biblical counseling.

2. New interior doors

I was skeptical about making this upgrade, but Krista wanted some new interior doors. We got some nice white, six panel ones for all the bedrooms and I confess…they look amazing! What a simple and yet major upgrade it was.

3. Decorating for Christmas

This is my favorite time of the year and I always enjoy our traditions. In particular we spend a day eating delicious snacks and putting up the tree. We always watch the animated movie of How the Grinch Stole Christmas as we do. It was a great time this year because the kids are getting old enough to realize it’s a tradition and they ask for certain things.

4. Dr. Strange

I loved this movie. It was super trippy and exciting, the writing was fantastic, the acting top-notch, and the wit of the film exceptional. It’s not another great Marvel film, it is up there as one of the best!

5. Simply Christmas by Leslie Odom Jr.

This is a beautiful album. The standard collection of Christmas carols, but sung with beautiful soul and rich voice. The addition of “Winter Song” was a great touch adding a unique track. Odom’s voice is stunning and his transitions between octaves and ranges is seemless. Really a great addition to any holiday sounds collection.

6. Steve Madden Jabber Boot

I got these boots for my birthday and they are beautiful. Great design, quality leather, and comfy fit. Really appreciate them.

7. Friendsgiving

Every year that we can go home to spend with family is great, and the times that we get to spend an evening with dear friends just adds to that. This year’s Friendsgiving was missing a few folks, but it was a joy to be with people we love, celebrate, eat, and laugh. It was great to catch up, reminisce, and encourage one another. Love that transcends time and space is a great joy and blessing to me, and these people provide that in my life.
