Summer is my time to do some more light and random reading. Since I spend most of the year focused around one study subject – this year’s subject is addictions and recovery – the summer is time to do some different reading. There’s less theology and ministry related reading and a bit more fiction. I’ve already completed two of the books on this list. Here’s this year’s summer reading list, given without comment:
- You Are What You Love by James K.A. Smith
- Election of Grace by Stephen Williams
- The History of Jazz by Ted Gioia
- The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
- Finding God in the Verbs by Jennie Isbell and J. Brent Bill
- Citizens by Simon Schama
- A Peculiar Glory by John Piper
- Love in the Ruins by Walker Percy
- The Heart of Addiction by Mark Shaw
- Confident Pluralism by John Inazu
- Church in Hard Places by Mez McConnell and Mike McKinley
- Asking for It – Kate Harding
- Advances in the Study of Greek – Constantine Campbell
