Celebrating What God is Doing in Recovery @ Cornerstone

recoveryThe idea of a fresh start is deeply appealing. Whether 2014 has been marked by catastrophe or simply the more mundane examples of failure, each of us can appreciate the possibility of a reset. The New Year always posits that possibility, at least in some minor fashion. While many of utilize this annual transition to motivate us to change, the folks in our Recovery Program know they can’t wait that long. They feel the urgency to make changes long before the year transitions. I am regularly encouraged by their example and challenged by their resolve. This January you can be encouraged by them too.

January 31st we will be hosting our second annual Recovery Celebration Event. It’s an evening of information, testimony, worship and general celebration as we rejoice in what God is doing in the lives of those in our program. If you want to learn more about our Recovery ministry, what we do and how we do it, come join us. If you are interested in hearing the stories of those who have participated in this program over the last year, come join us. If you simply want to worship and celebrate the healing power of God then come join us. From 7pm – 9pm we will be celebrating, and we are anticipating a good turn-out for this year’s event.

Ways you can help:

  • Prayer is the biggest help. It is never easy for folks to share their stories of heartbreak and failure, even while they also share how God has healed them and is working in them. For those who are not comfortable with public speaking it is an even greater challenge. So, please prayer for our brothers and sister who will be sharing at this next year’s event.
  • You can bake cookies for our event. Anyone interested in donating a dozen cookies can contact Pastor Dave at the church. The treats will be most appreciated as we serve folks on the night of January 31st.
  • Finally you can come to the event prepared to rejoice with your brothers and sisters and worship with our Recovery praise team. Knowing that our church supports this ministry is incredibly valuable to each of us involved in Recovery. We want to be a Recovery Culture Church and you can help us in that regard by coming out on the evening of January 31st at 7pm.

God is in the business of redeeming and rescuing people. We are seeing that happen through our Recovery ministry and we want to invite you to join us in celebrating what He is doing.
