I blog roughly four times a week and occasionally something I write strikes a chord with folks. Here are the top five most viewed posts from 2014.
1. “Why Are We Moving?”
This piece shared with blog readers the details of our transition to Cornerstone. We were so blessed to have such good relationships and friendships in Ohio that many people took a real interest in our departure and read about it in this post. We love the move we have made, but we still greatly miss our friend and family in Ohio.
2. “Confidence in the Word of God: An Interview with Dr. Gregory Alan Thornbury (Part 1 and Part 2)”
This interview with Dr. Thornbury, President of the King’s College in New York City, was a joy to do. Dr. Thornbury was very gracious to chat with me on the phone and this interview was both insightful and hilarious. This garnered some attention from the likes of Dr. Russell Moore and others and that’s largely why it got such a high percentage of follows, but that’s as it should. Not many people know the name Gregory Alan Thornbury, but they should.
This was my reflection on Christmas and sorrow. In this recent post I shared how a particular son helps me to deal with the grief of losing my dad several years ago around the holidays. It must have struck a chord with other readers because it got picked up often and shared a lot. I hope it was an encouragement to folks this holiday season who are still missing those they’ve lost.
4. “Simple Advice on Praying for Your Church Family”
This was a summary post I did based on a larger series dealing with praying for your church. I list, in it, five specific things to do for your prayer life as it relates to the people in your church. I still believe that this is an important and worthwhile discipline. Some of the habits on this list have changed for me now that we are in a much larger congregation, but the overall idea is still true.
5. “A Review of What is New Covenant Theology? by A. Blake White”
This small little book on NCT was very refreshing and insightful for me. White does a great job of drawing out the differences between Covenant Theology, Dispensationalism, and New Covenant Theology and he supports it well with Scripture. I am still on the fence about the system as a whole, but White did a very convincing job.
