This was a fascinating book exploring the charismatic gifts. While I have some reservations about certain ways that Deere speaks, overall I found this book to be extremely insightful, inviting, and theologically compelling.

Next week we will continue our look at the weaknesses of the four dominant views on the charismatic gifts by exploring specifically the Third Wave view.

4. External Influence and Internal Interpretation
While our external circumstances can have a tremendous influence on us, learning to navigate our internal interpretation of those circumstances can change the way we respond. I’ll unpack that more clearly and carefully next week.
