Next Week

nextweekHere’s what I’ll be blogging about next week at Pastor Dave Online:

1. A review of Everyday Church by Tim Chester and Steve Timmis

Not nearly as compelling as their first volume this one feels a bit more strained to say anything new or fresh.

2. The “Heart” of the Atonement (Part 6): The Example Model

The Example theory of the atonement often gets a lot of heat, but I intend to show next week that it is both Biblical and beautiful.

3. Shifting to “Spiritual Time” in Small Groups

There’s an inherent danger in making a distinction between socializing and “spiritual time” in our small groups. Next week I’ll explore that danger in more detail and help us think through how we can do better.

4. Deconstructing Modern Discipleship

As part of my research this year I am attempting to validate a new model of constructing a theology of discipleship. The reason we need this new model is because the contemporary scene has a poor one. Next week I’ll look in more detail at some of its shortcomings.
