My Holiday Music Recommendations

1) Christmas in Space – EP by Pomplamoose

A fun and super creative Christmas album. This unknown band is a personal favorite of mine as they show more creativity and thoughtfulness than most musicians. Best song: “Always in the Season”

2) A Very She & Him Christmas by She & Him

Easily one of the most unique albums in my collection. She & Him give classic Holiday songs that renewed retro feel. Bringing back the spirit of Ella Fitzgerald the duo produce some of the most beautiful seasons greetings. Best song: “Silver Bells”

3) Snow Angels by Over The Rhine

With a quality jazz/blues feel Over The Rhine makes the holiday go down smooth and smokey. The album is older but still finds itself on the top of my list every year. Best song: “All I Ever Get For Christmas Is Blue”

4) A Little Christmas Cheer by Zach Williams & the Bellows

This album brings with it the traditional feel of Christmas music but in the form of original works. The four songs are both enjoyable for adults and kids. Best song: “Marshmallow World”

5) Songs for Christmas by Sufjan Stevens

Sufjan is a favorite artist of mine and this album contributes to the folk remakes of Christmas classics in great form. In both original works and traditional hymns Stevens finds regular play in our home. Best Song: “Joy to the World”
