Here’s what you can expect next week at Pastor Dave Online:

1. A review of Counseling Hard Cases ed. by Stuart Scott and Heath Lambert

We’re using this as our primary textbook in my Biblical Counseling course. It’s a fantastic work highlighting the value of the Scriptures in counseling the most difficult and complex cases.

2. Subjective Evangelism: I Want You To Be Saved!

It’s important in evangelism to make a personal appeal, not just a logical presentation of arguments. We’ll explore this in more detail next week.

3. A Biblical Theology of Name (Part 3)

Next week we’ll explore the continuing unfolding of the use of name in the Scriptures, looking particularly at the story of the Tower of Babel.

4. Ask Pastor Dave: How Should I Respond to Children Named “Messiah” or “Jesus”?

This was a thoughtful question that is reacting to cultural trends on naming kids. I confess to have never even given this subject thought, so I am looking forward to thinking carefully about it in the days ahead.
