“I” is the Problem

David Murray at The Gospel Coalition has posted a reflection on Time Magazines 10 ideas that are changing your life. As he sees it the bulk of these ideas are rooted in our great and common problem:the  purusit of independence. Murray’s analysis states that as we continue to pursue more and more self-centered indpendence we are turning away from God’s design and our only hope of help. He recommends not only reevaluating the capital “I” in our world, but in ourselves too. He writes:

May God help us to weaken our own stubborn streaks of independence, and to strengthen God-glorifying, community-building dependency, his plan from the beginning.
