I am no fan of Sunday School. Most of the time I find it to be a useless time during a church week. It does little to add to discipleship, develops no deep theological thinking, and simply eats up time and energy from your people who are already exhausted. But there are circumstances where I think a reformed Sunday School could be very effective. I served in one church where I felt like their Sunday School model had a great potential. Ed Stezer here writes of the history of Sunday School and I confess if we could renew this kind of focus and interest I might be willing to get behind a Sunday School renewal movement…but probably not.
