I’ve decided to make a more diligent effort to work my way through the Gospel According to John. I had been preaching it when on staff at Bigelow, but now that I am out of that practice I have let it fall off. This last week’s encouragement to “get my nose in the Book,” as John Piper said, has challenged me to return to John and work my way, verse by verse, through the text. As I do so I will post my overviews of each section here. I will begin with going back to the beginning of John and working my way to the end. Having preached through the first three chapters those overviews will be somewhat easy, but I am looking forward to getting on to parts yet undiscovered and untouched by me. What makes John so exciting is he is very serious about showing his readers the glory of Christ, and that delights and satisfies my soul!
