Don’t miss these posts and more next week at Pastor Dave Online:
1. A review of Compassion without Compromise by Adam T. Barr and Ron Citlau
Another great book on navigating relationships with our gay and lesbian neighbors with grace and truth. The unique contribution of this volume is that one of its authors has struggled with a same-sex attraction his whole adult life. While I didn’t find the book as overall good as Stanton’s, that unique feature does add some quality to it.
2. Studies in Leviticus: Theological Foundations (Part 3) – Sacrifice and Offering
We’ll look in more detail at the concepts of sacrifice and offering next week to discussion how the book of Leviticus unpacks and applies them to us.
3. Fear as a Potential Root of Self-Righteousness
Self-righteousness may have different roots, but one plausible explanation for it is fear. I’ll explain how the two are related next week.
4. Love Must Be Discriminating
Many people have a concept of love that sounds like this: If you love me, you’ll accept everything about me. But the truth is that love must be discriminating. Anything less than discriminating is really a lack of compassion. I’ll explain why next week.
