This Week’s Good Reads

morning paperBecause I was on the road most of this week my list is short, but maybe you’ll benefit from one of these articles.

1. “Christianity and Homosexuality: A Review of Books” by Tim Keller

Keller reviews two new books on homosexuality by Christian authors.

2. “Consuming with Clear Eyes: Why Cultural Discernment is Up to You” by Richard Clark

This is such a helpful article from one of my dear friends. “Cultural consumption is a calling we all have, a task that none of us can escape,” writes Clark. The goal of Christ and Pop Culture, he says here, is not to tell you what to consume or what to think, but rather to provide some tools to helping you make up your own mind. CaPC has long been a resource of mine. The authors are Biblically informed, Evangelically persuaded, and humble. They write with great skill and joy to help the church wrestle with the culture around them in a way that is both Biblically faithful and yet honestly interacts with the content of our culture. I commend this piece to you as a good sample of their work.

3. “Discipling People in Recovery” by Bob Logan

Dr. Logan reminds us here that everyone needs to be discipled. He talks a bit here about this lesson he learned while working in a recovery program. As one who has spent a great deal of time around addicts and discipling addicts I so appreciate the sentiment expressed here.

4. “The Book of Revelation is Hayekian” by Jerry Bowyer

An interview with Gregory Alan Thornbury in Forbes Magazine!
