Next Week

Don’t miss these posts next week at Pastor Dave Online:

1) A review of The History of Sexuality: An Introduction by Michael Foucault

Like much social philosophy this is a dense read. The book is not so much a discussion of sex or sexuality as it is an examination of discourse on sexuality between the 17th and 20th centuries and particularly their relationship to power. It’s a fascinating study and if you reject the idea that God sets the standards for all sexual ethics it could present a convincing case. I, naturally, have some concern over what I read.

2) Dating According to the Bible?: What is Love?

We use the word too quickly and too ignorantly in dating relationships. It’s important to know how the Bible defines love before we start saying it.

3) Renewing the Mind: Philippians 4:1-9 and Biblical Counseling

This simple passage is packed with power for helping us in the mental fight against sin.

4) A Theology for Hipsters: A Theology of Culture (Part 4)

An introduction to the historical discussion of the relationship between Christ’s followers and the culture around them.
