Here’s what is going to happen at Pastor Dave Online next week:
1) A review of Dallas and the Spitfire: An Old Car, An Ex-Con, and an Unlikely Friendship by Ted Kluck and Dallas Jahncke
This is an excellent book on real discipleship. Here we find that discipleship is a lot more messy, organic, and frustrating. It’s fine to read books and drink coffee and talk about Jesus, but that’s not the same as investing in someone’s life and spiritual growth. Kluck gives us a better picture and a better model. I loved this book! On a side note, I am also thinking that if I ever start a Rockabilly band I am going to name it Dallas and the Spitfire.
2) Themes in the Book of Jonah: The Sovereignty of God
A major theme running throughout the whole book of Jonah is that God is in control. This week we will explore this theme as it relates to the book and find application for ourselves in it.
3) When The Shift Hits The Fan (Part 2)
This week we will continue the unfolding of what has been termed the “cultural shift”. We will explore, in particular, the ways in which postmodern philosophy aided the shift.
4) Members Interviews: TBA
Hopefully this week’s member will be ready and able to contribute their answers to the questions. I love sharing the stories of our folks and the ways in which the gospel has changed them.
Also check back for more Hipster Hymns and the return of This Is My Father’s World.
