Here’s what you don’t want to miss next week:
1) A review of 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess by Jen Hatmaker
I’ve really enjoyed reading this book. Jen has a great wit that evidences on nearly every page. The format of the book can be a bit frustrating, as it often reads like a blog, and I still haven’t decided what I am going to do with all the information it gives out. Nonetheless, it is an enjoyable and informative read.
2) The Importance of Theological Humility
Over the course of this current Free Seminary semester I have been constantly reiterating to my students that theological humility is of the utmost importance. This week I want to explain in more structured format why it is important.
3) Developing Theological Humility
Having established its importance I want to consider now some key things to keep in mind in order to assist us in developing theological humility. It won’t come naturally, so we must be prepared to work at it.
4) A Theology for Hipsters (Part 32): Keeping the Fundamentals (Part 11)
While I, for one, am always open to reconsidering my understanding of Scripture, and reformulating our expression of doctrine to be more relevant and yet Biblically sound, I also know that progressiveness can be dangerous. This week we will look at the dangers of progressiveness in theology.
