Jonathan Edwards Slave Holder

Jonathan Edwards has been hailed as America’s Greatest Theologian. His works, preaching, and role in church history are often celebrated, and yet an ever-increasing subject of contention is Edwards as a slave-holder. Jonathan Edwards, America’s Greatest Theologian, owned slaves. A number of scholars are researching, writing, and speaking on this subject and it is important for church historians and Christians to take notice of this subject. Racism still exists within the church, often blind, often a matter of instutional sin, and needs continual and consistent discussion, repentance, and reform. Here are some resources to aid in this investigation for us.
