Next Week

You don’t want to miss these posts next week at Pastor Dave Online:

1) A review of Sexual Detox by Tim Challies

This is now my third time reading this booklet and I appreciate so much about it. I think in the future I will defer to it in counseling sessions as opposed to Driscoll’s booklet.

2) Suffering Servants: Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark

We saw this week that the Gospel of Mark paints of picture of Jesus’ victorious kingship as coming through his suffering. Next week we will explore the ways that this relates to our following of Jesus. Needless to say, “A servant is not greater than his master.”

3) Can We Really Believe The Book of Jonah?

I confess, in my own weakness I have often struggled to believe that Jonah is a book of historically accurate content. I have never doubted, mind you, that its theological point is valid and God-inspired. But to suggest that a man was actually swallowed by a giant fish, survived, and saw a whole city repent of their sin? That seemed a bit much for me to…wel…um swallow. But I believe, now, I have some good arguments for why the author at least intended for it to be taken historically.

4) A Theology for Hipsters (Part 31): Keeping the Fundamentals (Part 10)

This week we’ll look at the Biblical place for rebellion…did you know there was one?
