Repentace and Return

Last July many of us were shocked to hear that C.J. Mahaney was under investigation by an iterim Board of Directors at Sovereign Grace Ministries. The goal was to determine if three specific charges leveled at Mahaney were accurate and therefore disqualified him from serving as President of the ministry. The findings of that Board and the reinstallation of Mahaney have been summarized well by Justin Taylor here. It’s always a joy to see repentance (of which there is) by prominent pastors and ministries. There are some good realizations of error and failure discussed here and yet there is also repentance for it that is discussed. Mahaney’s own decisions are worth reading as he realizes where his stregnths and weaknesses are. I commend the reading to you not simply for the information, but as an example of repentance and humility.
