Justin Taylor has an excellent post on various options for Bible Reading Plans to start off your new year. He even gives us a defense of having plans. Many people read throught the whole Bible in a year and this is a good idea, I stopped doing that a few years ago, however, as I felt like it made me read quickly and not dig deep. I have started taking a book and reading and studying it for the whole year (or I read two books for the year if they are shorter). This year I will begin by studying through the book of Jonah for the first half of the year, and I am looking forward to getting to know this book better than the whale tale of my childhood. How are you planning to study the Bible in 2012?
