Doctrinal Dances

I loved this post from Trevin Wax in which he bemoans the way so much doctrine is communicated these days. There is no beauty, no craftsmanship, no artistic and poetic expression. The style of so much doctrinal communication would bore the most committed theologian, I fear. Wax, quoting Jared Wilson, writes that we need “Prose that sings.” And then he lists examples, it is helpful, encouraging, and inspiring.

I am currently reading through Russ Moore’s Tempted and Tried and I might add that Moore writes with superb communication power. His prose sings and the doctrines in the book dance! It’s beautiful and I commend the book for that reason and for many more (which you can read about on Monday in the posted review).
