Christians and Postmodernism

I would consider one of the churches I work with a Postmodern church. It still affirms, with great tenacity, the 100% accurate truth of Scripture and the Christian worldview, but a number of the elements of modern church life have been abandoned. In fact this year I will be teaching at this church’s Free Seminary and discussing “Evangelism in a Postmodern world.” The reality of the term “Postmodernism” is that it is broadly applied and rarely defined. But not every use of the word is bad. Nonetheless I am inclined to agree with Colin Hansen, who writes that Postmodernism is dead. We live in a post-postmodern world. The article is worth checking out.

Though, I confess, I’d much rather live in a pre-future world than a post-postmodern world. What do you think the next label for our culture will be?
