My Favorite Ambi Ubi Words

There a host of words that I find are commonly used but which are rarely defined. Here are some of my personal favorite Ambiguous Ubiquitous words:

1. Brilliant – example: like when someone refers to both Einstein and the movie The Hangover as brilliant

2. Left – example: President Obama is extremely to the left in his policies and that church allows people to wear shorts and reads from the NIV, they are clearly moving left.

3. Saved – example: I’ve been “saved” with no reference whatsoever to what exactly it is that I’ve been “saved” from or “saved” to

4. Postmodern – example: that movie, book, person, song, commercial, and plate of french fries are soooooo “postmodern”

5. Cultural Engagement – example: I engage culture by feeding the homeless, you engage culture by playing video games, and she engaged culture by buying Froot Loops.
