These are some good works on the subject of community as I have talked about it over the course of these four posts. I found them to be generally helpful, insightful, though-provoking, and Biblical. Enjoy your reading and enjoy your communities.
Total Church: A Radical Reshaping Around Gospel and Community. by Steve Timmis and Tim Chester. The book aims to chart a “middle path” between the Emergent church and the traditional conservative church. The authors see the central focus of the church as both the gospel and community, a duality that when combined has massive implications for all of Christian living and ministry.
Exiles: Living Missionaly in a Post-Christian Culture. by Michael Frost. This work had a great impact on me. The whole book is not about community, but the chapters that deal specifically with the subject are a beautiful exposition of it. There are somethings in the book that will make you raise your eyebrows, no doubt, but when it comes to community Frost explored particularly the idea of community around the mission.
