The End of the Golden Age

Yesterday I preached part one of a three part series through the book of 1 Kings. “The End of the Golden Age” discussed the transition of Israel from the Golden Age of its history to a spiritual (and eventually physical) wasteland. King Solomon’s heart was moved from following God to pursuing idols, pursuing foreign loves, and abandoning his “first-love.” What we learn from chapters 1-12 of 1 Kings is just how easy it is for us to be led astary. We are forced to ask ourselves, “On whom or what is my heart focused?” Where is your heart friends? Do you love Jesus, is He your treasure? You know. Don’t be like Solomon, pray that God would keep your heart and fight for your satisfaction in Jesus.

  1. David,
Thank you for ‘God in the Wasteland’ series. I was truly convicted and challenged as the message continues to dig up and pull down as the week progresses.

I love the new look on the web and will enjoy visiting. Hadn’t heard or seen Mark D’s new book either…..thanks for sharing, Wow.
